Nanotechnology can be used to enhance new and existing energy systems, including conventional and renewable energy sources. Energy Nanotechnology is an introductory course that provides a comprehensive overview of nanomaterials used for energy production, storage, transmission and conservation. Synthesis, characterization, application and toxicity of nanomaterials used for energy sources such as solar cells, fuel cells, supercapacitors and batteries will be the main focus of this course.

After completing Energy Nanotechnology, students will be equipped with a basic understanding of the following:

  • Nanotechnology overview
  • Nanotechnology properties
  • Energy production using nanotechnology
  • Energy storage using nanotechnology
  • Energy transmission and conservation using nanotechnology

This course is for those who want to understand nanotechnology and their current and future markets.

Students will be assigned 5 homework assignments, and 1 final exam.
