Nonwovens are all around us- from absorbent wipes to landscape materials. This platform of fabric materials, which evolved out of the textile industry, requires no knitting or weaving. These materials are made from long fibers, bonded together by chemical, mechanical, heat or solvent treatment, and serve markets such as hygiene, medical, filtration, geotextile, and many others. This course provides an overview of the nonwovens industry, technology platforms, manufacturers, markets and applications, standards, and outlook for the future.
