Quality Control (QC) ensures that products and services are designed and produced to meet or exceed customer expectations. “Quality Control” is a course that introduces the basics for understanding, developing, and implementing a quality control program. We review several key definitions, tools used (basic statistics and graphs), and emerging industry techniques- such as Six Sigma and Lean. We also present relevant case studies that show implementation steps for several industry and government quality control programs, and the challenges faced. This course also provides an excellent foundation for further study in Six Sigma, Lean, Total Quality Management, or Operations Management. After completing Quality Control, students will be equipped with a basic understanding of the following: This course is designed for students who possess basic mathematic skills and a desire to learn about quality control. Professionals are also encouraged to register for this course, either as a means of professional development or as a broadening experience.
