Nanoparticles have one or more dimensions of the order of 100nm or less. These materials have novel properties that differentiate them from the bulk material at the nanoscale, and differ depending on materials, fields and applications. “Nanoparticles and Nanomaterials” is a course that provides a comprehensive overview of the preparation, characterization, function, and environmental implications of nanoparticle uses. The types of nanoparticles will include inorganic, organic, and hybrid nanoparticles. This course will also cover synthesis, characterization, analysis, and functions of such nanoparticles. After completing Nanoparticles and Nanomaterials, students will be equipped with a basic understanding of the following: This course is for those who want to understand and apply nanoparticle and nanomaterial technology to commercial applications. A basic understanding of chemistry is recommended. Students will be assigned 5 homework assignments, and 1 final exam for each course. This course is Instructor-led and delivered through our award-winning online Learning Management System.
